Safety and Health Auditing

We draw upon our history of excellence and technical knowledge in health and safety to assist clients develop and conduct audit programs to improve their organisations’ health and safety performance.

Through our understanding of local and regional operating practices, processes and regulations, we support clients to meet regulations for health and safety.

We conduct audits of clients and their contractors’ Health and Safety Management Systems against AS/NZS 4801:2001 Australian Standard for Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems, AS/NZS ISO 19011:2014 Guidelines for auditing management systems, and AS/NZS ISO 31000:2009, Risk management- Principles and guidelines.

Contractor audits can also be tailored to assess conformance with the requirements of a client’s Health and Safety Management System or industry best practice where high standards in risk management are required.

To ensure the effective management of high-risk work such as work at heights and confined space entry, we offer High Risk Work audits that assesses conformance with relevant Codes of Practice and Australian Standards.

We were engaged to conduct quarterly contractor audits at a clients site. These audits assessed conformance of contractors with the clients health and safety requirements, and conformance with the contractors own health and safety requirements, and commitments to the client.

These audits provide the client with formal evidence of assessing contractor health and safety performance, and resulted in significant improvement in the health safety management and safety performance.

Looking to improve compliance with high risk work, Industrial Safe was engaged to review and revise a client’s work permit systems across all their operations to meet regulatory requirements and best practice. We also developed a comprehensive training programme for their high risk work system, and conducted a follow-up audit to assess conformance with the new requirements in all work groups.
